The Joint Communique signifies the intent of both sides to explore the possibility of entering a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on bilateral labor cooperation.
The Joint Communique was signed by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre H. Bellow III and Ontario Labour Minister Monte McNaughton at the Legislative Building at Queen’s Park, City of Toronto.
The signing was witnessed by Ambassador Rodolfo Robles, Consul General Ron Castro, representatives from both Philippine and Canadian labor offices and different professional organizations.
President Sonny Martinez was also asked to speak at the round-table discussion where he thanked the Labour Minister for passing Bill 27 which exempts the requirement for Canadian experience in the issuance of designation. He also discussed about the many required courses when a Philippine CPA enrolls for the Canadian designation and how we can expedite the process.
